Hi all.

It's been quiet in the Downward Camp for the past few months, and there's quite a good reason for that - Kim is no longer a part of The Downward Candidate.

A number of reasons has been decisive for Kims departure, but it's mainly personal and something no one else but us would find interesting. The important thing is that everybody find this the best decision and we split as good pals and all is merry.

We have had a few other vocalists in mind, but until now we haven't succeeded in making it all come together. So, we are still looking for Kims replacement. If you think that your self or some one you know have got the right sound and attitude, drop us a line

We regard us selves as a live band, so besides the obvious kick ass qualities you possess, it's iimportant that you have the time and wish to tour a lot, be it in or outside Denmark, in a smelly night liner or a smelly station wagon with trailer...
It's also very important that you are committed and feel responsible for what you are doing. We need a fourth member, not just some guy that pops in from time to time.

Holy shite, it's been ages since the news on this site has been updated!

Since the Volbeat tour (which was the greatest thing in the history of this band) ended in December, we took a little break and started writing new material. So far the tunes sounds awesome, and we are talking about doing an album later this year! How about that, eh?

Hi all. It's been ages since the last update on this site. Doesn't mean we are lazy, it means we are busy!!! Well, as busy as lazy guys can be...

Since the last update, we have had some new merchandise manufactured. Indeed fine equipment which will be displayed in the Merch section some day. neat...

The new demo... Well, we have recorded drums for five tracks and we are tracking guitar and bass at the moment. We haven't progressed as we'd like, lately because of fucked up gear. As we are closing in on the Volbeat tour, it probably won't be done before after the tour, we'll see... We might re-record the drums as well, we'll see... Oh, and we are still looking for a guy to mix it. Some obvious and not so obvious candidates are being considered, we'll see...

In other "news" Dennis has officially joined Hatesphere, the rotating swing door, which seems to prevail and head on its persistent journey towards world domination. What ever effect it will have on The Downward Candidate will show in the future. Hopefully none, but it will take a few sacrifices and coordination to keep both bands on track. We'll see!

We are spending the calm summer months on doing a pre-recording for the next demo. We are tracking 8 song where 3 or 4 of them will wind up on our next demo which we will recorded over the next months. So far the drums are done and the guitarwork is progressing smoothly. Bass and vocals are up during next week. It sounds killer and it's gonna be hard to choose the right tracks.

Drums for the next demo will be recorded in mid August and the rest of the shite during September, så expect an October/November release. More details will of course follow soon.

We're happy to officially welcome Kim, our new front howler, to the ranks of The Downward Candidate. And yes, we decided to make is a little bit easier for everyone by finding a guy with the same name as our previous singer, Kim, whom we would like to thank for a couple of good rock 'n' rolling years. Huge cheers and thanks to the band and crew members from Chaoswave and Another Messiah, whom we spent the last three days on the road with. Also a big "horns up" to the crowd at the Full Frequency Fest for being there for us so early in the day. We had a killer time and can't wait to get out there again to spread som more chaos. at the moment we are working on gigs in april and may, so stay tuned for that in the near future.

Sadly HateSphere has dropped off the US Tour that Dennis was supposed to play on. Of course he's a bit dissapointed, but he'll have his chance some day when The Downward Candidate takes over America! Right!

We are back from the Danish Dynamite Tour and we are totally blown away by the good times and the shitloads of memories from the coolest tour ever! Touring with three Danish bands with people who are all very close to us is really fucking amazing.
Thanks a lot to all the people we met and all the people who embraced us thoughout the whole tour. Also a big thank you to Volbeat and Raunchy for bringing us along and of course to the rest of the guys in HateSphere and the crew. You guys were all amazing!

Also we have been nominated as Best Live Band (woot!). The winner will be found through an online voting deal. We are happy to announce that Raunchy has decided to drag our sorry asses through their short but pretty cool DK tour this fall. The dates are:

October 6th - The Rock, Copenhagen (Yes, we're doing that place for the third time in a year!)
November 9th - Kulisselageret, Horsens
November 10th - Train, Aarhus
November 11th - Studenterhuset, Odense

We are also hoping to play the Aalborg Metal Festival on October 7th, but that's of course up to the organizers. More on that later.

We are eagerly awaiting to play with the Ronni-boys, as it's been years since some of us had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them. So we played our first gig at The Rock this Saturday and it was GREAT! It felt good to be back on the stage and to deliver what we have been working on for the last year. Now we just can't wait to get out there and play live again - and believe us, we will!

Just to set the record straight, here are some info about the "Distort & Confuse" promo:
The promo was recorded at the Berno Studio in Malmö, Sweden in September 2005.
Enginered, recorded, produced, ProTool'ed, mastered, ass slapped and generally fucked up by Berno Paulsson - that guy can do everything!

The disc contains four tunes being "Distort & Confuse", "Lower Than Your Tired Eyes", "Mind Siefe" and "World At My Feet". The sharp minded may already have discovered that "Mind Siege" is the only track missing in Downloads - obviously because it's a bonus thing for the ones purchasing the hard copy by either buying it, stealing it or licking some serious ass on one of the candidates or on someone who already has the disc and don't care too much about it.

Some might believe that we recorded the promo with Lars Mayland, but we didn't. We did record a, well... let's call it a pre-production, with our old drummer Jakob. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the time you spent in this outfit. Rock on, brother.

Hello everybody - and welcome to The Downward Candidate.
There's a rumour in town saying that The Downward Candidate is a project and not a real band. Not true. We are a bunch of mean fuckers, dedicated to The Candidate and dedicated to kicking ass, and we will kick ass. Today, tomorrow and until the day we have to kick ass using our canes, false teeth, zimmer frames or whatever. In other words, The Downward Candidate is here to stay. Enough about that.

Also a warm welcome to our website. Right now the site is pretty basic, but we will update it continuously as we grow into character - meaning when tour dates, live pictures, press and shite like that gets available. In the meantime, stick around and listen to the tunes - that is what it's all about. And while you're at it, why don't you sign the guestbook...?

By the way - for those of you who missed the front page and the side bar - we have our first live appearance scheduled for December 10th at The Rock in Copenhagen. We are looking so much forward to that, and we hope you guys will come kick ass with us.
